March 30, 1984 Nor'easter

Another category 5 storm on the Dolan-Davis scale was recorded off the northeastern states, with a wave height of 10.1 meters. The central pressure for this system was recorded at 968 millibars. As this weather system moved along the eastern United States it spawned a total of 24 tornadoes spanning from Georgia to Virginia.

The Nor’easter of 1984 caused a total of 24 tornadoes including 13 in North Carolina with a maximum intensity of F4 on the Fujita scale.
